We've already purchased another wedding cake topper for our beach-themed wedding cake, because it had a bunch of other matching pieces in the Seaside Jewels collection made by Hortense B. Hewitt. (Also purchased on Amazon, fabulous!) This topper came in a timely manner, beautifully (& safely) packaged, & it's gorgeous. The details on it are very beautiful &, well, detailed. It doesn't look at all cheap, cheesy, or plastic-looking. Because this has the unfinished look of unfired pottery, I'm considering a DIY project with some shellac or clear spray to give it a shiny finish. Just an idea. If I decide to do it I'll update my review just to say what I used & how it went. I won't change my rating, as my adjustments are not relevant to the condition of the original item.

When I saw this cake and cake topper...it was perfect for our wedding. I was hoping that the cake topper was plastic or cheap looking. I was pleasantly surprised when it came in. The texture is similar to unfired pottery, and it's perfect. I love it!
